A budding Afro-pop musician, Philip Degelo known in showbiz as Awotse Kelly has on Friday August 10, 2018 made a handsome donation to the YOA Disability Foundation in Dansoman in the Greater Accra region.
The Foundation is committed at taking care of children with cerebral palsy.
Speaking to The Probe after the donation, Awotse said that: “Society’s attitude towards children suffering from the defect is not very commendable,” adding that “as a communal society, we have a collective responsibility to take care of people with one disability or another especially children, no matter how little our effort is.”
Talking of his music career and ambition, he said he believes in creating musical content that portrays and projects the Ghanaian cultural value and tradition.
“I believe that as musicians, our words which we term as lyrics carry as much weight as the sermon by any pastor. And for this, we cannot fail our generation by helping them derail further down the road of immorality. We must portrail our good culture in our songs,” Awotse told The Probe.
Awotse counts among his lot tracks like “Pressure Baby,” “Honourable’s Party” and the latest one which features Kofi Kinaata, “Samantha.”
