At last two persons are reported dead, while four others are hospitalised at Donkorkrom Abotanso, Afram Plains, in the Kwahu North District of the Eastern Region, a family member has confirmed.
The cause of deaths and hospitalisation has not been established yet, however the family is reported to have eaten ‘fufu and light soup’ the previous day.
Speaking to The Probe, a family member, Kofi Agbobli said, the incident occurred early Friday morning, around 2am.
“I don’t stay with them, but my grandfather came to call me that early, around 2am, Friday morning to come help them out for they are suffering from serious stomach ache. So, I went and we managed to take them to the hospital. Before we got to the hospital, my grandmother [Mama Agbobli] and brother-in-law [Forgive Tabolo] were already dead,” Kofi Agbobli told The Probe.
According to him, the four who are still on admission at the Presbyterian Hospital at Donkorkrom are Kofi Agbobli [grandfather], Peace Agbobli [aunt], and two children of the deceased brother-in-law, Ama Tabolo and Kofi Opare.
According to Kofi Agbobli, the four who are on admission at the Presbyterian Hospital at Donkorkrom are still in critical state.
The Probe is learning the two persons who lost their lives with four others hospitalised allegedly ate puffer fish [poisonous fish].
