Tamale: Police take over Tamale Teaching Hospital after …

Some members of a vigilante group, the Kandahar Boys Monday morning chased out the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), Dr David Zaawumya Kolbila, as reported by Graphic.com.gh.

According to Graphic.com.gh the group, is said to be affiliated to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is accusing Dr Kolbila of incompetence.

The Kandahar Boys have also accused the CEO of misappropriating the hospital’s funds.

They group locked Dr Kolbila’s office after chasing him out.

Dr Kolbila took over as Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital on Monday, June 19, 2017, from Dr Prosper Akanbong, according to Graphic.com.gh.

The Kandahar Boys are one of the known vigilante groups in the Tamale metropolis with their base at Aboabo, one of the suburbs.

Latest update according to TV3 indicates that the police in Tamale have taken over the  Tamale Teaching Hospital to ensure peace and order.

Health workers at the Tamale Teaching Hospital have since threatened to strike if government does not deal with the situation accordingly.
