Mfantsipim Senior High School has triumphed over rivals Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) and Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology Senior High School (KNUST SHS) in the first contest of the one-eighth round of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
The contest, which is taking place at the University of Ghana Business School saw a keen intellectual combat between the schools.
Making their way through the semi-finals, Mfantsipim came up with 50 points, PRESEC came next with 34 points and KNUST SHS tailing with 20 points.
The victory qualifies Mfantsipim boys into the semi-finals stage where they get to lock horns with other qualifying schools in the contest.
The victors will be receiving cash prize following the introduction of the GCB Money Zone. The GCB Money Zone monetizes points scored in the Quarter final stage of the competition which will be paid out to the three contestants and their teachers in charge.
Mfantsipim is the first school to qualify into the Semi-final stage of the competition.
They are most-likely lock horns with the victors of the next competition between Aburi Girls Senior High School, University Practice Senior High School and Ghana National College.
