Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan

Black Stars captain, businessman and boxing promoter Asamoah Gyan says his image has indeed revived the once ailing Ghana boxing.

According to him, since he became a promoter, a lot of people have developed interest in the sport.

“I can say my image has revived Ghana boxing, because now, when there’s a match, the arena gets filled up,” he said on Peace FM Kokrokoo morning show on Friday.

His comments come a day before a bout between Emmanuel Tagoe [Gameboy] and Namibia’s Paulus Moses at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday, October 20.

Gameboy’s promoter, Asamoah Gyan has thus urged all Ghanaians to support him [Gameboy] to defeat the Namibian.

“I urge all Ghanaians to come to the Bukom Arena to support. Although it’s my own boy, Emmanuel Tagoe against the Namibian, secondly it’s Ghana against Namibia,” he said.
