Manchester United have today, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 sacked their manager Jose Mourinho after several defeats of the club.
This comes after the team lost 3-1 to Liverpool on Sunday.
Mourinho was the manager of Manchester United for two and a half years.
Recent defeats of the club raised concerns as to why he was still managing United.
The 55 year-old Portuguese, won the Europa League and the FA Cup at Old Trafford.
Currently, however, United is sixth in the Premier League with 19 points behind leaders Liverpool who defeated them last Sunday.
In a statement issued by United it said: “A caretaker-manager will be appointed until the end of the season while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”
