Popular KUMAWOOD actor cum musician, Kwadwo Nkansah, famously called Lil Win, has today commissioned his Great Minds International School, for the basic level at Offinso-Ahenkro, in the Ashanti region.

The commissioning of the school was graced by the Afigya Kwabre District Chief Executive [DCE], Mr KariKari Kyemfour, together with the chiefs and leaders of Ahenkro.

Mr KariKari Kyemfour, in a speech disclosed his amazement when Lil Win informed him that, he has established a school, and is now shocked to see the nature and structure of the school because, he did not dream something like this was going to happen soon.

According to him, the school is the ‘number one’ in terms of facilities, in his district, and he believes this will help provide quality education for all children of school going age at the area.

He also advised that, everybody should learn from what Kwadwo Nkansah has done, and should not hesitate to do so if you have the strength, because, the government cannot solve the country’s problems alone.

Most of the actors, producers and directors, including Heritage Bank and Barclays Bank, were also present to support Lil Win for his good work.

Speaking to the media, Kwadwo Nkansah said, because he did not have the opportunity attain higher education, when he entered the movie industry, he prayed that, God grants him three wishes: to build a house for his mother, to establish a school and to build a house for himself.

“God being so good, when He blessed me, I have been able to build a house for my mother, a house for myself, and finally, a school,” Kwadwo Nkansah said.

He added that, his intention of establishing a school is to see to it that, Ghanaians benefit from his blessings, because, ‘if one builds a house, it is for him or herself, but when one establishes a school, it is for the whole nation.’

“This will also make people from my town and district proud, and also reduce their burden of sending their children all the way to Kumasi to find ‘big’ schools for their wards,” Kwadwo Nkansah indicated.

He also added that, for now, the school starts from the crèche to the Junior High level, but it is his dream that, he extends it to the university level.

He advised that, all the actors and actresses should learn from him, since no condition is permanent.

“Sometimes the life of actors and actresses becomes miserable at the end. Some even go to the extent of begging for food and accommodation. So when God blesses you and you get something, don’t overuse it, but rather, keep some and invest in it, so that when it gets to the time it is not coming anymore, your investment will cater for you,” Kwadwo Nkansah added.

On his part, Akwasi Boadi, who is also a KUMAWOOD actor and popularly known as Akrobeto, expressed his joy and said he is proud of Kwadwo Nkansah on his new development.

“Though, I was aware he was doing this, but today, when I came to see where it has reached, it has motivated me a lot. In fact, I am short of words.

“This has proven that, it is not only through school that one can prosper. Sometimes, people do underrate us for not going to school. Even in our movie industry, those who speak English don’t regard us, all because, we didn’t go to school.

“That is what has made me happier and proud, because, those of us who didn’t go to school are doing greater things than those that went to school. Kwadwo has done it, Kwaku Manu has also done it, and I too have done same. This shows that, it’s not only school that can make one prosper in life,” Akrobeto said.
