President Akufo-Addo has appealed to Christians to pray for him to gain strength and wisdom to be able to continuously lead the country on the right path.
Mr Akufo-Addo says any time the church meets, they should remember him and his ministers in prayers ‘especially me, so that God will give me strength and wisdom to lead the country well.’
Speaking at the Agona-Swedru Methodist Church on Sunday, September 16, on his four-day tour of the Central Region, he said: “When you pray for me, I’ll even feel it when I’m at the Jubilee House.”
The President donated an amount of GH¢5 000.00 to the church, stating that it is his contribution to the church’s harvest.
On his part, the Resident Minister at the Swedru Methodist Church, Very Reverend Dr. Jacob W. French advised that Ghanaians should be modest in their speeches since when we ask ‘who’re you, your utterances define who you are.’
He advised the youth, especially, to desist from speaking disrespectfully to leaders in the country if they seek God’s blessings.
According to him, currently, the youth and elders alike, disrespect each other which ‘is one value we’re missing as a nation,’ and since our values define us, we should call on ourselves to ‘live as such.’
