At least four persons reportedly collapsed while several others sustained severe injuries after being attacked by a large swarm of bees at Kasoa-Kakraba in the Central Region.

The large swarm of bees which is reported to be kept by a resident at the area came out and attacked the residents on Friday, September 21, Peace FM’s Oscar Adawu Dadzie reported on 6am news on Saturday.

The residents are reported to have run helter skelter after the bees were seen during the day to escape being attacked by them, but to no avail, as most of the residents had their share of the attack.

Some children are alleged to have sustained severe injuries leaving them in a critical condition after the attack.

“I was standing at a point and I saw the bees approaching. They were plenty! All of a sudden, I saw them attack a certain lady who run to chemical shop to seek refuge but they followed her there and she had to run away from that place. As a result they attacked other people there,” an eyewitness told Oscar.

The residents are said to have complained about the bees being kept by the owner at the area. However, the owner of the bees is said to have ignored their complaints, consequently being attacked by the bees.
