Spokesperson for Professor Joshuah Alabi has described the GH¢420,000 National Democratic Congress [NDC] flagbearership filing fee as “ridiculous and outrageous.”
According to Nii Amasah Namoale, for a flagbearer hopeful to raise such an amount within 10 days makes it more “ridiculously outrageous.”
“It’s not a matter of whether Professor Joshuah Alabi can pay or cannot pay but it’s a matter of the money being too high,” he said on Peace FM Friday, November 30.
He said “such a thing will destroy the future of our party” as a “social democratic party.”
According to him, the flagbearer aspirants should have even been notified of such an amount for them to have prepared beforehand. But now they have to raise GH¢420,000 in ten days which is quite impossible.
Namoale also wondered why all aspirants have condemned the filing fee but only one aspirant and his supporters are not complaining.
The former Member of Parliament for Dadekotopon thus urged all the flagbearer aspirants to petition the Council of Elders of the party about this “conflict in the party, because the Council of Elders are supposed to resolve conflicts.”
