Exhibit sense of ‘service, sacrifice and selflessness’ – Kwabena Agyapong tells NPP

Mr Kwabena Agyapong says the NPP party members are complaining too much

The ruling New Patriotic Party [NPP], its appointees and members have been advised to exhibit a sense of ‘service, sacrifice and selflessness.’

According to the former General Secretary of the NPP, Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, service, sacrifice and selflessness have always been the focus of the NPP and as a government.

“I’ll appeal to the party, they should exhibit some sense of love and sacrifice because the complaints are becoming too much! Governance is not a joke, it is not a cake to be shared. We [NPP] came to serve, to toil and develop the country,” he said on UTV on Monday, December 24.

Mr Agyapong who is also the former spokesperson for former President Kufuor says some party members are complaining of not benefiting since the party came to power. This he said should not be the case but the party and for that matter government is to develop the country to the benefit all, irrespective of party affiliation.

According to Mr Agyapong, that ‘orientation’ on the minds of Ghanaian politicians that they have to amass wealth once their party is in power should be shunned. “When you’re in government, you go there to serve; you even sacrifice what you have,” he stated.

Mr Agyei Agyapong also indicated that he is optimistic after eight years of the NPP administration, Ghanaians will testify to a good work done.
