The Bishop of the Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, Rt. Rev. Samuel Kofi Osabutey has urged all Christians to be good and effective stewards for the work of God.
He said an effective steward is one that offers his/her body as a living sacrifice to God.
In his sermon at the 57th Annual Synod Thanksgiving Service of the Accra Diocese at Good Shepherd Methodist Church, Kaneshie North Circuit, he urged Christians to offer their bodies, minds and will to the service of God!
Speaking on the theme ‘The Stewardship Of Life,’ Rt. Rev. Osabutey advised that Christians should not allow the world to control them but rather allow God to direct their paths.
He posited that many Christians have become conformers because they are being controlled by the world. ‘If the world controls your thinking, you are conformed,’ he noted.
“However, if God controls your thinking, you are transformed,” he said. The Bishop of the Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana further stated that Christians should be impacted by the word of God.
‘This is because, if you have the word of God in you, you will not allow the world to control you and to be led astray,’ he said. According to him, If you want to be a good steward, you have to sacrifice your will to Christ.
The Synod Thanksgiving Service was used to introduce the Northern Accra Diocesan Bishop elect Adusah Aaison to the congregation.
The newly launched Methodist magazine The Wesleyan Voice and its editorial board was also introduced to the congregation.
