President Nana Akufo-Addo has removed former EC Boss, Madam Charlotte Osei and her two deputies, Mr Amadu Sulley and Ms. Georgina Opoku Amankwah with immediate effect.
The decision is as a result of the Committee set up by the Chief Justice, Justice Sophia Akuffo, pursuant to Article 146(4) of the Constitution, to investigate separate complaints brought against the former EC Boss and two deputies by some persons, recommended their removal from office.
In a release signed by the Minister for Information and Spokesperson for the Presidency Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, it stated that, the Committee recommended their removal on the basis of misbehaviour and incompetence, pursuant to Article 146(1) of the Constitution.
Nana Addo has thus directed the three to hand over their respective schedules to the Director of Human Resource and General Services of the Electoral Commission.
