Brogya Gyamfi predicts massive victory for Mahama

Mr Gyamfi says former President Mahama will not get anything below 85% in the flagbearership race

An aspiring National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], Mr Yaw Brogya Gyamfi says he would be surprised if former President Mahama does not win the party’s flagbearership race with 85% of total vote cast.

According to him, with what he has witnessed and heard since the former President started his national campaign tour ahead of the elections, anything below 85% will be a shock to him.

Mr Gyamfi recounted how delegates and party faithfuls received the former President with a mammoth crowd when he visited the three Northern Regions.

Speaking on Si No Pi on Ahoto FM with Marfo John [Sir John] in Kumasi, Mr Gyamfi said: “I was in the three Northern Regions campaigning for the National Youth Organiser position. I had the chance to witness some of the platforms where the former President was meeting delegates. And I must emphasise that people were ready to meet Mr. Mahama as early as 2:00 am with joy and enthusiasm.

“I would be surprised if John Dramani Mahama wins below 85% ahead of his competitors for the flagbearership. At some point I even asked myself if his campaign was for the Presidential general election.”

Expressing his optimism, the former Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser, re-echoed the need to vote the former President to ascend the throne come 2020.

According to him, he would compare the second coming of John Mahama as the second coming of the Messiah.

“I am very optimistic that John Dramani Mahama will ascend the throne come 2020 as the President of Ghana. You see, whether you believe that the Messiah will come nor not there is nothing you can do about it.

“That is how I see the second coming of former President Mahama. There is no way he would not win the primaries and the general election,” he added

Commenting on whether the party’s strategic ‘Unity Walk’ has triggered a meaningful impact, Mr Gyamfi revealed the walk has raised the spirits and enthusiasm of the party, hence, a reduction in internal agitations at the grassroots.

“The Unity Walk has made an impact and I can tell you for a fact that the joy and zeal in the party based on the campaign can be compared to that the party had in 2012 prior to the general elections. And that speaks volumes of the second coming of former President John Dramani Mahama in 2020. The grassroot is strong and active,” he stated.

He thus admonished the youth to rally behind the party to wrestle power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in a collective manner.
