The former acting Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party [NPP], Yaw Adomako Baafi says he will not accept any appointment from President Akufo-Addo that will take him away from the party’s grassroot.
“There’s no better appointment than to be able to go round and work in the party. There’s no appointment the President will offer me that will take me out of the party that I’ll accept,” he said on The Touch Light programme The Probe monitored on Neat FM on Thursday night, September 20.
According to Adomako Baafi, there is need to accept any appointment from the President that will not allow him to be able to travel across the country to work for the party, ‘then it is better I stayed at Asylum Down [party office].’
He said: “We need to cement the relationship between the party and the grassroot.”
Adomako Baafi further stated that wherever people identified ‘some of us with NPP, we need to go there.’
The former acting NPP Communications Director resigned from his position last week September 13, 2018.
He indicated that being the acting director of communications confined him to office activities and prevented him from embarking on trips across the country to sell the ‘good policies of the government’ to the grassroot.
The Member of Parliament for Adentan Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah was accordingly appointed as the new Communication Director of the party, last Wednesday.
Mr Adomako Baafi thus congratulated the newly appointed communication director and others who were appointed to occupy various positions in the party.
