Adom FM’s Afia Pokua adjudged Ghana’s Outstanding Woman of the Year 2018

Adom FM’s Afia Pokua was on Friday, November 30, 2018 adjudged Ghana’s Outstanding Woman of the Year 2018. She took the overall award not just for her broadcasting prowess but her advocacy role that got her putting up a building for a deprived school in the Eastern Region.

The event which took off at the Alisa Hotel, in Accra, saw many dignitaries gather to witness the maiden edition of the Ghana’s Outstanding Women’s Awards (GOWA, 2018).

Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of GOWA, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum said: “We have gathered here not just to celebrate the achievements of our ladies and role models but also to give due regard to societal values and morals which these awardees exemplify, like discipline, compassion and zeal for impacting.

“Awards are a way to encourage good works and inculcate competitive spirit. It is the reason this scheme has been established to annually reward and to encourage our women.”
